Did Louis C.K.'s mildly racist 'SNL' monologue go too far?

The Middle East, mild racism and child molestation ... oh my.

Louis C.K. hosted the 40th season finale of Saturday Night Live, and boy did he make sure to go out with a bang. The comedian kicked off the show with a 10-minute monologue filled with what some would call edgy, and others would call offensive, jokes about hot-button topics from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to his mildly racist attitude secured in the '70s.

And then came the pedophilia-candy bar comparisons.

Here's how many of us at home were for the entire monologue:

C.K. was polarizing to say the least (a concept he is familiar with), with some lauding the comedian for pushing the envelope and being the funniest host in years. Others were offended, or at least grasped that the taboo content of his jokes would make waves.

Louis CK is the only person on the planet who could get away with his SNL monologue from last night. And it was hilarious.— Leigh A. Zinsmeister (@LeighAnneZin) May 17, 2015

So… Louis CK’s #SNL monologue was… a thing. Wow. Brave. Very funny.— Benjamin Cook (@benjamin_cook) May 17, 2015

. @nbcsnl I hope Louis CK is right about this being his last time hosting. The child molesting bit was disgusting. #SNL40Finale #SNL— Josh Allen (@j_allen) May 17, 2015
