Transgender model, actress and recent Columbia University grad, Hari Nef, was just signed by top agency IMG Models.

Nef made her runway debut at this past spring New York Fashion Week, walking for VFiles, Degen, Adam Selman and Vejas. She joins IMG's ranks of in-demand models like Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Karlie Kloss and Miranda Kerr.

IMG's Senior VP and Managing Director Ivan Bart broke the news via Twitter.

Nef has already been a spokesperson for the transgender community. People have a lot of questions and Nef has been answering all of them on her personal Tumblr. When one Tumblr user in particular commented, "but you're like super fat for a model? you probably don't even have accurate measurements," Nef shut the hater down, responding, "Will never be a size zero because of the way my bones developed...clearly my measurements did not impede me from signing with the top modeling agency in the world lol."

Other transgender models are taking the world by storm. Nef follows in the footsteps of Valentijn De Hingh, who is the only other transgender model with IMG. And model Andreja Pejić was the first trans model to be featured in Vogue.
