The self-published novel turned publishing sensation The Martian will get its feature film adaptation release later this year.

In the meantime, the film's star, Matt Damon, is giving us a preview from aboard the fictional Aries 3 spacecraft.

Directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner), the film is about an astronaut stranded on the surface of Mars. In a short clip released on Sunday, Damon introduces us to his crew as fake social media viewers weigh in on the faux live stream event.

Although the brief tour is fairly pedestrian as sci-fi films go, the level of detail applied to the spacecraft and its instruments hint that the movie may turn out to be another Scott classic.

Also starring Jessica Chastain and Kata Mara, the film is set to debut in theaters on November 25.
