So many "Beast Mode" jokes, so little time.

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is set to play one of the villains in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. He's a mercenary in the employ of a crime boss, and he has a role to play in a firefight that spills out onto the streets of Singapore. That's all we know at this point.

Here he is in his full mo-cap glory:

Lynch's Call of Duty connection is revealed in the latest issue of ESPN the Magazine. The press-averse NFL superstar spent a day with Black Ops 3 developer Treyarch, both to mo-cap his in-game work and to take an early look at what's ahead for the next entry in the popular series.

Call of Duty's featured plenty of celebrities in the past -- most recently it was Kevin Spacey in 2014's Advanced Warfare -- but Lynch is the first professional athlete to have a role in one of the games.

Black Ops III continues the story that Treyarch has been telling since 2010. The latest chapter jumps ahead to the year 2065, a time when cybernetics and robotics have fostered a new breed of warfare. Tensions are high around the world after an Edward Snowden-like figure reveals the details of off-the-books "black ops" missions.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III comes to PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Nov. 6.
