UPDATE: Donald Trump will sue Univision after the announcement that the network would break off ties with the Miss Universe Organization.

"We intend to pursue all legal rights and remedies available to Mr. Trump pursuant to the terms of the license agreement as well as a defamation case against Univision," Michael Cohen, Trump's executive vice president and special counsel, said, according to Politico.

Donald Trump's comments on immigration have caused trouble for Miss Universe.

Univision has ended its partnership with the Miss Universe Organization, which Trump partially owns, over comments he made about Mexican immigrants. In his presidential announcement earlier this month, the businessman blasted off incendiary remarks about Mexicans who make their way the United States.

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," he said. "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists."

The Miss Universe Organization also oversees the Miss USA Pageant. Univision will not be airing Miss USA this year on July 12.

The network released a statement today about severing ties with the the presidential hopeful.

“Today, the entertainment division of Univision Communications Inc. announced that it is ending the Company’s business relationship with the Miss Universe Organization, which is part-owned by Donald J. Trump, based on his recent, insulting remarks about Mexican immigrants,” the company said. “At Univision, we see first-hand the work ethic, love for family, strong religious values and the important role Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans have had and will continue to have in building the future of our country. We will not be airing the Miss USA pageant on July 12th or working on any other projects tied to the Trump Organization.”

Last year's Miss Universe winner was Miss Colombia Paulina Vega. About 2.3 million people watched the pageant on Univision.

Trump doesn't seem to be ruffled by Univision's announcement. He has responded via Twitter, claiming the Mexican government forced Univision to pull out.

Mexican gov doesn't want me talking about terrible border situation & horrible trade deals. Forcing Univision to get me to stop- no way!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2015

Univision wants to back out of signed @MissUniverse contract because I exposed the terrible trade deals that the U.S. makes with Mexico.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2015

I love Mexico but not the unfair trade deals that the US so stupidly makes with them. Really bad for US jobs, only good for Mexico.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2015
