Two words: colorful hijabs.

Uniqlo has teamed with fashion designer and blogger Hana Tajima to create a line for Muslim women. The collection will be available in select Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia locations and online starting Friday.

Her LifeWear collection features garb from pleated skirts to trousers and long dresses, in addition to more traditional items like the hijab and kebaya with a colorful and printed twist, wraps and pleated tunics, and layered blouses.

Tajima converted to Islam at age 17 and has joined the retail company to improve upon a widespread lack of conservative but stylish clothing.

"When it comes to buying clothes, on the one hand you have traditional styles that really target you as a 'Muslim woman of [insert regional heritage],'" Tajima told Mashable. "But for a lot of women, a singular and specific cultural identity isn't what they relate to... there is a lot of ingenuity and making do with what's available on the high-street, but you just don't find clothes that were made for you. A line of modest clothing was a way to reach a lot of people who are very often overlooked."

Muslim women cover most of their skin at all times, and many personally choose to wear a headscarf, or hijab, for religious reasons to reflect devotion to God.

Several items in the clothing line feature designs that appear layered but are actually a single garment, creating a look with a minimal amount of fabric to keep things cool and comfortable, according to Uniqlo Singapore. One of Tajima's favorites is the "super lightweight crinkle cotton headscarves," she says.
