A bronze statue of Bill Cosby that stood at Hollywood Studios theme park in Walt Disney World was removed on Tuesday night.

Walt Disney World officials confirmed to the Associated Press that the Cosby bust that the statue was taken down after the park closed for the evening.

Prior to its removal, several petitions had circulated for months calling for the removal of the statue, which stood alongside television legends at Disney's Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza.

One particular Change.org petition said it was "prudent" that the park remove the statue in light of the accusations against Cosby.

"The Disney name is synonymous with family-friendly entertainment and with Mr. Cosby in the media daily facing accusations of sexual assault with the number of victims ever-climbing, it is inappropriate for Disney Parks to have a replica of Mr. Cosby's likeness on display," read the petition.

The plaza honors those who have been inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. Cosby's statue stood alongside celebrities such as Lucille Ball, Oprah Winfrey, Bob Newhart and Andy Griffith, and as of Wednesday morning, his name still appeared on the Disney website as one of the honorees.

The statue removal came court documents were unsealed on Monday revealing that Cosby testified in 2005 that he'd obtained Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to women he wanted to have sex with.

Cosby, 77, hasn't commented on the documents, which were secret for a decade until Monday, after the AP went to court to get them released. He has never been charged with a crime and has repeatedly denied sexual assault allegations.
