Ellen DeGeneres debuts GapKids line for heroic girls

If there is one person who can revive Gap, it is probably Taylor Swift. If she’s not available, Ellen DeGeneres is the next best thing.

Back in May, GapKids announced a partnership with DeGeneres and her new lifestyle brand ED. We finally have a first look at the collection set to be released August 17.

In a new behind the scenes video, DeGeneres is seen posing and laughing with children modeling the apparel. One of the girls tries to teach her how to play her drum set while another shows off a robotic hand.

GapKids x ED is more than just a clothing collection, Gap explains. It is a social movement meant to empower young girls to be their own heroes.

"I am thrilled that my lifestyle brand, ED, is partnering with Gap to encourage young girls to pursue their passion, whether it’s math, science, sports, the arts,” said DeGeneres in a press release. “Following my passion allowed me to be exactly who I am today."

Parts of the proceeds will be donated to charity, Elle Magazine reports.
