LONDON -- Topshop won't be using a "ridiculously shaped" and "tiny" mannequin again after a British shopper called the clothing chain out in a 500-word post on Facebook.

Laura Berry from Stroud made the public complaint about the mannequin, which was displaying a pair of jeans, saying that it wasn't representative of the average female body.

"Every day I am surrounded by strong women and men who struggle with the daily battle of body image," Berry wrote. "So let me get to the point, I'd love to hear how you can justify the ridiculously tiny mannequin in your Bristol Cribbs Causeway store? We come in all shapes and sizes."

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with being the size you naturally are. I believe we should all feel comfortable in our own skin. Having said that, this mannequin is quite frankly ridiculously shaped." She estimated that the mannequin was a UK size 6 (U.S. 2).

Berry went on to say that while she is "old and wise enough" not to feel the pressure, there are teenagers who could be left "wondering if that was what was expected of our bodies".

Despite initially asking to respond privately to Berry, the retailer replied to her publicly, saying they would not place any more orders for the style of mannequin photographed.

The decision by the retailer was met with a positive reaction.

Last year, another Topshop mannequin was heavily criticised on Twitter after a woman photographed her friend, a UK size 8 - 10 (U.S. 4 - 6), beside one of its shop mannequins and tweeted it with the hashtag #poorbodyimage.
