Huge.

That's the only way to describe the initial ratings report for Thursday night's Fox News debate.

Initial ratings show that around 16 percent of U.S. televisions were tuned into Fox News last night, a number that easily surpasses previous Republican primary debates.

The ratings, initially reported by CNN, represent a major victory for Fox News. The channel has seen dramatic ratings increases for each of its past debates, although Thursday's spectacle seems to have surpassed even the loftiest expectations.

More details about the ratings will be released later today by Nielsen, which tracks U.S. TV viewership.
