I thought I knew Donald Trump. I was wrong.

The Donald was scheduled to appear on all three of the major Sunday political talk shows -- “Meet the Press,” “This Week” and “Face the Nation” -- as he continues to deal with the fallout from his debate appearance and its aftermath. And boy did I learn some stuff about Donald Trump.

[seealso slug=http://sale-online.click/2015/08/06/donald-trump-gop-debate-quotes/%5D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETrump, who dominated much of the debate, was fresh off having clashed with Megyn Kelly, one of the three Fox News anchors moderating the first Republican presidential debate. He took umbrage with some of her tougher questions, heaving his usual insults. He even went as far as seeming to insinuate that Kelly was menstruating during the debate, causing her to be in a foul mood.

So sitting down to watch Trump on Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised to learn a few things about Trump that were quite the opposite of what I'd seen in the lame-stream media.

Thing I Learned #1: Trump loves the ladies

It might be easy to think that the casualness with which Trump spews stereotypical and hurtful rhetoric at and about women indicates that he might have a problem with the opposite sex.

Not so! Trump is a big fan of the ladies. He said so himself. And not only that, if elected, Trump will work to make women's lives better. How? That's a question for losers.

Trump: "I cherish women, I want to help women, I'm going to do things for women that no other candidate is going to do" Ha!— Charles M. Blow (@CharlesMBlow) August 9, 2015

Trump's platform as a candidate isn't all that clear right now, but he did recently say that he'd be willing to shut down the government in order to defund Planned Parenthood. That's a start!

Thing I Learned #2: Trump is just really ridiculously good looking

I didn't quite realize it, but now everything makes so much more sense. The Donald is just a damn handsome man and sometimes that causes issues.

Trump's boundless narcissism typified by this doozy on MTP: "it's very hard for [women] to attack me on looks, because I'm so good looking."— Eli Stokols (@EliStokols) August 9, 2015

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder, so it's tough not to take Trump's word on this one. He has been married three times, so there's clearly some sort of appeal.

Thing I Learned #3: Trump is "beloved"

Trump is easily atop the polls for the Republican presidential nomination and has been since about the start of his run. He clearly is liked.

Today, I learned that he is beloved.

Asked if he made a mistake by going after the beloved @megynkelly, @realDonaldTrump says on #CNNSOTU: "I'm the one that is beloved."— State of the Union (@CNNSotu) August 9, 2015

Thing I Learned #4: The Donald is innocent

If you talked to just about anybody with a sense of decency, you might have thought that Trump had gone too far with his comments about Megyn Kelly or in doubling down on his comments about Mexico purposefully sending criminals into the U.S.

Wrong!

“I said nothing wrong whatsoever,” Trump said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” http://t.co/6prdG8MCRW— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) August 9, 2015

Trump may have been alluding more to his comments about how he never went bankrupt, which is absolutely true. He made the clarification because four companies he has been involved with have declared bankruptcy.

Thing I learned #5: Trump is the greatest
