The season finale of USA's Mr. Robot is being delayed for one week in light of the Virginia shooting that claimed the lives of two journalists on Wednesday.

The network's full statement reads:

"The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."

The finale, which had been set to air on Wednesday and cap off a critically acclaimed freshman season, will now air Sept. 2 at 10 p.m. ET.

The network will air an encore of the penultimate episode in place of the finale, which features a scene in which someone commits an act of gun violence in a public setting.

On Wednesday, Virginia reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were killed in the middle of a live news broadcast allegedly by a disgruntled employee who later took his own life.
