LONDON – This is what true kindness looks like: stopping to help a sodden Alsatian (German Shepherd) that's been caught in a sudden downpour while waiting for its owner.

A passing couple took pity on the bedraggled pooch, which was tied to a lamppost outside Marks & Spencer in Kent, with the man actually going so far as taking off his own jacket to shelter the dog from the rain.

Gala Bingo Dover employee Jon Sparkes spotted the couple from across the road and dashed over to help them. He told the Metro that the dog had been there before the rain started.

"As you can see the dude has taken his top off to protect the dog," said Sparkes. "They’ve selflessly protected the dog from rain and we’ve seen that and gave them umbrellas."

"They were really grateful and they waited there until the owner came back, and was also very grateful to the couple," said Sparkes.

Good work all round, kind humans.
