Onlookers barely had time to pack the Baltimore courtroom ahead of the trial for six officers in the police-custody death of Freddie Gray before police arrested a prominent activist named Kwame Rose right outside.
The start of the trial is expected to deal with motions filed by the defense trying to dismiss charges against the accused officers.
Officers outside the courthouse reportedly tried to disperse activists demonstrating against police brutality, and some have said on Twitter that Rose was hit by a vehicle before he was arrested.
Rose can also be heard saying he was hit by a car at the end of this short video, below.

The activist received national attention for confronting Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera about the nature of the station's reporting in the aftermath of the death of Freddie Gray, which saw angry but peaceful protests as well as chaos that led to burning buildings.
Gray was fatally wounded inside a police van after he was arrested for fleeing police when he made eye contact with them in April. Six officers were charged with varying crimes in Gray's death, including one officer who was charged with second-degree depraved heart murder.
