Carly Fiorina responded directly to Donald Trump's criticism of her looks on Wednesday, saying that "women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said."

Debate moderators asked Fiorina to address Trump's "persona," which is what he said he was referring to when he commented on her "face" in a recent article.

Trump and Fiorina have been in a long-simmering feud, but it reached new heights after the Rolling Stone report about Fiorina's "face" was published. "Look at that face!" Trump reportedly said as he listened to Fiorina answer a question about him on television "Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?"

Trump has maintained that he wasn’t referring to Fiorina’s looks. He said he was talking about her "persona."

But on Wednesday night, Trump did directly address Fiorina’s appearance.

"I think she’s got a beautiful face, and I think she’s a beautiful woman," Trump said.

Their exchange even prompted Hillary Clinton to weigh in on Twitter, saying Trump should "stop complimenting women and start respecting them."
