Hot off her breakout performance at the second Republican debate, Carly Fiorina has soared into second place in the GOP presidential field, according to a new national CNN/ORC poll.

The poll, released Sunday morning, shows Fiorina with 15% of support. Donald Trump remains the leader in the Republican field with 24% of support. Ben Carson, who was second to Trump going into the debate, dips back to third place with 14% of support.

This is a big jump for Fiorina, the former Hewlett Packard CEO, who garnered just 3% of support in a poll taken in early September.

Thus far, Fiorina has performed extremely well in her debate appearances. She came away a winner in her first appearance in the "kids table" GOP debate on Fox News. That performance was credited with improving her national poll standing, to the point that CNN adjusted its own eligibility rules in order to include Fiorina on the main stage.

According to Sunday's CNN/ORC poll, Fiorina's favorability ratings have increased post-debate too. She has gained 9 percentage points in favorability since August.

Fiorina received praise for her debate performance, particularly her responses to Donald Trump and her pitch-perfect response for what woman should appear on the $10 bill.
