French police reportedly used CS gas on inhabitants of the migrant and refugee camp known as the “Jungle” on Tuesday, after clearing several hundred people from surrounding areas.
Video filmed by eyewitnesses showed police in riot gear lined up under the bridge at the entrance to the camp, while canisters were thrown among tents nearby.
On Monday, several hundred people were moved from a nearby camp to the main jungle, according to the Calais Migrant Solidarity site.

France has promised to build more permanent facilities for some 1,500 people early next year, but this week's events have shown the some 3,500 camping in the area that they're only tolerated within the Jungle's perimeter.
