LONDON -- Want a Landspeeder bed? All you need is some spare timber, a few tins of paint and an awesome father.

One Redditor, Ghostfaceace, put dads everywhere to shame recently by constructing for his son a replica of the Star Wars hovering vehicle, complete with neon lights and a themed duvet.

The job took the man around 10 hours across two weeks, he said, and involved around £100 ($150) of materials, much of which were left over from his previous jobs as a designer and builder.

His posts on Imgur and Reddit were met with widespread applause. "You are the most awesome kind of parent!" Marciluphigus insisted. "You sir... are a better Dad than Darth Vader," Voodrew declared. "Parenting done right," Nismojutsu added.

"Did you ever consider adopting a 32-year-old Belgian boy?" Entun asked.

The man explained some of the features of the bed, including its remote controlled lighting, on Reddit.
