Barbie has a brand new celebrity friend to hang with.
Last week, Mattel announced on Twitter that it would commemorate Zendaya's famous 2015 Academy Awards look with a custom-made doll. And on Sunday, the doll made its debut.

The @zendaya one-of-kind #Barbie! It was so much fun recreating this iconic look she wore at the Oscars, from the #fauxlocs originally done by @theshelbyswain to the @viviennewestwoodofficial gown! Mad love to the amazingly talented team at Mattel that I work with; sculptors, face painters, hair designers, patternmakers, seamstresses and more! The doll was designed by Barbie designer Carlyle Nuera, who took inspiration from Zendaya's elegant Vivienne Westwood dress and dreadlocks. The look was infamously criticized by Fashion Police's Giuliana Rancic, sparking a controversy that prompted both Kelly Osborne and Kathy Griffin to leave the show.
The doll can be seen on display at the Rock n’ Royals concert at the Hollywood Palladium -- but unfortunately, it's not available for fans to purchase.
Zendaya herself was thrilled with the doll, writing on Instagram, "When I was little I couldn't find a Barbie that looked like me, my...how times have changed. Thank you @barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty."
