LONDON -- Sorry, sonic sunglasses, but if Twitter is anything to go by you just aren't that popular with Doctor Who fans.
The sunglasses, which now seem to have replaced the traditional sonic screwdriver since it was lost to Davros in "The Magician's Apprentice", have received a fairly widespread panning on social media since they were introduced.
Their appearance in Saturday's episode "Under the Lake" marked the second episode in a row in which they've featured, and for some fans it was clearly too much.

Some thought the sunglasses were just going to be a temporary measure -- a handy opportunity for the Doctor to make a gag about screwdrivers spoiling "the line of your jacket" -- but it's looking increasingly likely that they may be here to stay.
