London mayor Boris Johnson was given an abrupt lesson in dodgeball Monday when he came face-to-face with a group of plastic ball-wielding protesters.

The mayor was hurried into the Conservative Party Conference while a colourful torrent of the balls rained down around him, launched by activists who had arrived in Manchester to protest the Tory party's austerity measures.

Johnson, who apparently reserves most of his anger for taxi drivers, didn't seem too fazed by the vibrant attack -- in fact he even managed a cheerful wave to the camera as he was hurried away from the booing crowd.
