Jimmy Brooks was a bad boy from the start.
Drake, the rapper formerly known as Degrassi star Aubrey Graham, chatted about his acting past in a recent interview with W magazine. At 14, he starred as Jimmy Brooks on the Canadian teen soap -- but in the interview, he revealed that he was eventually kicked off the show for focusing too much on his music career.

“Back then, I’d spend a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m. I’d sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m. Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose,” Drake laughed. “I chose this life.”
His two worlds did collide from time to time; Drake occasionally rapped on the show. True Degrassi fans may also remember watching a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary about Drake's life when he was on the series, in which he talked about his love of music and rapped a couple of bars he was working on.
