Want a piece of music history? It'll cost you.

A green cardigan Kurt Cobain sported in a 1993 MTV Unplugged performance recently sold at a Julien's auction for a mind-numbing $137,500.

Cobain wore the sweater during Nirvana's now iconic unplugged performance, which was recorded at the Sony Music Studios in New York City on Nov. 18, 1993. It was televised about a month later, on Dec. 16. Julien's originally estimated the sweater would sell for $40,000-$60,000.

Julien's site noted that the sweater was Manhattan brand, with a missing button, a burn hole and some discoloration. It was provided by a friend of the Cobain family.

A lock of Cobain's hair was also supposed to be auctioned, but Spin reports that a representative said it was "pulled from the auction and therefore not sold.”

Here's the original sweater below, in all its vintage glory.
