EODM crew member is first British victim named in Paris attack

LONDON -- The foreign office has confirmed a British man was among the 129 people killed in a series of attacks in Paris on Friday night.

Thirty-six-year-old Nick Alexander was killed in the attack on the Bataclan venue where Californian band Eagles of Death Metal were performing.

The family of the London merchandiser, who was part of the crew at Friday night's concert,

"It is with huge sorrow that we can confirm that our beloved Nick lost his life at the Bataclan last night."

"Nick was not just our brother, son and uncle, he was everyone's best friend - generous, funny and fiercely loyal."

"Nick died doing the job he loved and we take great comfort in knowing how much he was cherished by his friends around the world."

Earlier on Saturday, Alexander's girlfriend Polina Buckley made an appeal on Twitter for help finding him in Paris.

Later in the day, Buckley posted a photograph of herself and Alexander to Twitter with the message: “You are and always will be the love of my life, Nick Alexander.”

On Saturday morning, Prime Minister David Cameron warned Britain to brace for casualties from the attacks in Paris.

Speaking after an emergency meeting, he said the country "must be prepared for a number of British casualties" from the Paris atrocity. He condemned the "brutal and callous murderers".

In a message of solidarity to the people of France he said: "Your values are our values, your pain is our pain, your fight is our fight."
