Dead isn't always dead on Game of Thrones -- and in Season 6, Ian McShane (Ray Donovan) will guest star as someone who apparently brings back another familiar face.

“I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you’re never going to see again," McShane recently told Pop Goes the News. "I’ll leave it at that.”

The actor is only slated to appear in one episode, with his character's identity -- surprise, surprise -- being kept secret. As for who he's bringing back, there's no shortage of dead or missing characters who could be possibilities -- including fan favorites Jon Snow and Catelyn Stark, or Joffrey Baratheon, The Worst of His Name.

McShane's publicist did not immediately respond to Mashable's attempt to substantiate the actor's comments, reportedly made at the Los Cabos International Film Festival.
