Drake is Spotify's most globally streamed artist of 2015.

The champagne papi landed 1.8 billion streams in 2015. He released two popular albums this year alone: If You're Reading This It's Too Late, his Valentine's Day surprise release, and What A Time to Be Alive, a collaboration with Future.

Ed Sheeran was the second most streamed artist of the year, followed by the Weeknd, Maroon 5 and Kanye West.

Rihanna was the year's most popular female artist worldwide, landing 1 billion streams without even releasing her highly anticipated new album, Anti -- though she did drop popular singles like "FourFiveSeconds" and "Bitch Better Have My Money."

The Weeknd nabbed the honor of most streamed album of the year, the massively successful Beauty Behind the Madness.

In the U.S. specifically, the top five artists list included Drake, the Weeknd, West, Sheeran and Eminem. When it came to albums, Drake's If You're Reading This dominated, while Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" was the most streamed song stateside.
