New year, new Kendrick Lamar.

The rapper debuted a new song, called "Untitled 2," while performing as the musical guest on The Tonight Show. The nearly 5-minute track boasts the same funky edge found on his last album, the critically acclaimed To Pimp a Butterfly.

He also sat down for an interview with host Jimmy Fallon, discussing his record-breaking 11 Grammy nominations, the most any rapper has received in a single year. He almost beat out Michael Jackson's 12-nomination record for Thriller, but says he wouldn't be comfortable with surpassing the late singer.

"I can't fathom being as great as Michael without putting out the work, so 11 is perfect," he says.
