New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski has a case of the Mondays. Just one day ago, he missed an easy-money extra point that came back to haunt the Pats and help end their season with a playoff loss instead of a Super Bowl appearance.

Blair Walsh knows that feel, bro.

Two weeks ago, Walsh attemped a field goal that would have given his Minnesota Vikings a playoff win over the Seattle Seahawks. But he missed, ending the Vikings' season instead. The gaffe melted the Internet, got Walsh epically trolled and prompted a group of local kids to show him some aww-inducing love.

Now fast-forward to this past Sunday. Gostkowski hadn't missed an extra point in nine years. But he missed the chippie right after the Patriots' first touchdown, making the score at that point 7-6 to Denver instead of a 7-7 tie. The miss meant that, near the end of the game, New England needed to attempt a two-point conversion to force overtime instead of simply kicking an extra point to do so.

The Pats failed to score that two-point conversion, turning all eyes back to Gostkowki's big miss and what a difference that extra point would have made. Suffice to say, he's not the most popular man in New England right now. But, loyal to the fraternity of NFL kickers, Walsh has Gostkowki's back.

Gostkowski is one of the best in the league. It's a TEAM game! Credit to Denver for the great win.— Blair Walsh (@BlairWalsh3) January 25, 2016

Walsh, of course, knows better than most how far a little support can go. His most recent tweet before Sunday's message for Gostkowski came 10 days after his own epic gaffe. The post thanked those who helped him then.

Thank you all for the words of support. It is greatly appreciated! I will continue to train diligently & come back stronger than ever! #skol— Blair Walsh (@BlairWalsh3) January 20, 2016

There's likely no lonelier position in sports than that of an NFL kicker who just blew it big-time -- but at least they have each other.
