LONDON -- Move over, P90X: There's a new workout in town.

London-based fitness studio 1Rebel has launched a fitness class called "Rebels on Ice" that involves high=intensity interval training (HIIT) training on a slippery ice rink.

The added challenge of doing strength exercises on an icy surface forces your core to engage and makes your muscles work much harder to avoid falling over; your joints might ache afterward, but you're working toward increased flexibility. Its organisers claim the workout burns 500 calories in 20 minutes.

The class combines cardio and strength moves; attendees can expect a workout full of high knees, burpees, squats and lap runs on the ice rink. It works your glutes and quads, as well as your core.

Rebels HIIT the ice this Thursday. ❄️ Mountain climbers, squats and burpees all on the @broadgatelondon rink. Sessions now available to book and filling fast (link in bio). #RebelsOnIce #regram @ukwomenshealth #1Rebel #workout #london #event

Fair warning: You might come away with a few bumps and bruises.

The classes run every Thursday at the Broadgate Ice rink at 1:15 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. Tickets cost £13.49 for a 20-minute session; you're advised to wear running trainers with decent grip and gloves for safety purposes.
