LONDON -- No matter how busy J.K. Rowling might be, she often finds some time to interact with her fans on Twitter -- especially if the fan in question is asking her for help.
On Monday morning, a fan sent a tweet to the Harry Potter author saying she was "tired of being sad all the time".
@jk_rowling could you please teach me how to scare the dementors that have been living under my bed? i'm tired of being sad all the time— pale emo nerd (@mtrssmustdie) February 8, 2016
Rowling's response came eight minutes later.
They're bothering a unique, valuable human being who deserves happiness. Ask for help. Don't fight alone. Big hug. https://t.co/V8ocAHN1Ll— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) February 8, 2016
It wasn't long before others began sending messages of support, too.

@mtrssmustdie I have anxiety & often think in black & white. Hold onto the positives from here, to get you thru till you can see gray again.— Michelle W (@mishkarma) February 8, 2016
