Facebook is rolling out a way to make wishing "happy birthday" to your friends a little more personal.

The company announced a feature on Monday that allows users to record 15-second videos that can be shared to a friend's timeline. You'll also be able to select from various birthday-themed frames to dress up the video message.

The feature will become available for Facebook users on iOS devices starting on Monday; it will come to Android in the coming months, Facebook told Mashable.

To make a video, visit the profile page of your friend via the iOS app and select the banner video prompt where you would typically craft a birthday message. From there, you can choose the option to record a video and share it on that person's wall. (Good thing the song will be free to use, if all goes according to plan.)

Considering Facebook's birthday alert feature is one of the most appreciated by users -- just think of how many birthdays you'd forget if not for Facebook -- it makes sense that the company is taking steps to offer more features around it. You can now also export friends’ birthdays to your web calendars, such as Google Calendar, iCal or Outlook, and add birthday-themed stickers or text photos.

The birthday video feature is a part of the company's latest effort to bring more personalization to Facebook with the help of video. Last year, Facebook began testing a feature called profile videos, which lets users upload seven-second clips instead of a static avatar.

The company continues to show off personalized video features around holidays, such as the end of the year and Facebook's 12th anniversary, which assemble photo memories with friends into shareable clips.
