Hardcore productivity hounds have new Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 configurations to choose from.

Microsoft announced on Friday its Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 can now be purchased with 1TB of storage, twice as much as the previous maximum storage configuration.

All that extra storage comes with a hefty cost: $3,199 for the 1TB Surface Book and $2,699 for the Surface Book 4. That's a $500 premium over the 512GB Surface Book and Surface Pro 4.

These high-capacity devices also come with powerful sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processors and 16GB of RAM.

In addition to the new kitted out new Surface storage configurations, Microsoft also announced a gold-colored Surface Pen stylus, which is available immediately in the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Italy, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

It costs $59.99 -- same price as the silver, black and dark blue Surface Pens -- and comes with the Surface Pen Tip Kit, a pack of four different friction tips optimized for writing and drawing.

Why gold? Well, why not? Everyone else is making gold-colored gadgets. Apple's got a gold MacBook and Google's got a gold Nexus 6P.
