The agreement brings Amazon's Prime Instant Video catalog to 22,000, up from 18,000 in June.

Amazon's last streaming deal was signed with ESPN earlier this week. The company also has licensing deals with Discovery, Fox, CBS, NBC, MGM, Sony Viacom and Warner Bros., among others.

Videos can be watched on Kindle Fire, Roku, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and, as of the first of this month, iPad devices. The $79-per-year subscription also gives customers free two-day shipping on Amazon.com and access to a library of Kindle e-books, including the entire Harry Potter series, at no additional charge.

Content licensing isn't the only thing Amazon is concentrating its efforts upon. Earlier this week, the online retailer sent out a press invite for an event in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sept. 6. Some suspect Amazon is planning to unveil its next-generation Kindle Fire and E-Ink e-readers, but the fact that the event is being held in L.A. suggests the company may have more of an entertainment-related announcement up its sleeve.
