AOL Body Offers Health-Related News and Quizzes

AOL has recently launched "Body" a section for its portal that's focused on health and fitness.

Covering the gamut of physical to spiritual health, the section of AOL offers things like news, diet tips, and online tests to see if you should be concerned about your cholesterol level. Within AOL Body, there's more sections for things like drugs and supplements, as well as a health encyclopedia. Under the tools tab, you'll find self-diagnostic tests, or self assessments, and calculators, to figure out if your child is healthy enough, or how many calories you burn in an average day.

With most health portals we're seeing crop up today include things like social networks, I'd expect to see more integration of MyAOL with AOL Body. There isn't any user-submitted info, advice forums, or Q&A sections, like you'll find with Yahoo's health portal. And unlike RevolutionHealth and WebMD, this isn't a tool for you to begin tracking and managing your own health online. Hopefully some of its information can be included in AOL's new mobile search tool. In related news, Google has announced its upcoming patient information storage system today as well.
