It's been a long, long wait.
Apple last upgraded the Apple TV in 2013 -- but there's finally a new one in town, and preorders start Monday.
The new version of Apple TV brings an all-new remote, Siri support and vastly enhanced search. It's far more powerful than the previous version, and is now powered by Apple's A8 processor (as seen in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus) and comes with a new operating system called tvOS, as well as its own App Store, which will also contain games.
Two variants are available. The 32GB model costs $149, while the 64GB costs $199. In the UK, the prices are a bit steeper -- £129 ($198) for the cheaper model and £169 ($259) for the more expensive one.
Customers in the U.S. who preorder now will likely get the device delivered to their doors within three to five business days, regardless of which version they choose.
The old, third-generation version of Apple TV will still be available in the Apple Store, starting at a much more affordable $69 -- but lacking most of the improvements in the new model.
