The space shuttle Atlantis is currently wrapped in a protective, plastic sealing at the Kennedy Space Center in Orlando.

The wrapping, similar to what you might see boats covered in during highway transportation, is keeping Atlantis free of debris while construction workers finish building the soon-to-be-open exhibit around it.

Atlantis first arrived at the space center on Nov. 2. To accommodate the 152,700-pound vessel, the final wall of the exhibit was left open until the ship was safely inside. The plastic will stay on until the spring, and the exhibit is set to open in July 2013.
