Ad It Last, an Australian advertising broker, announced today at the AlwaysOn media conference that they are opening offices in the United States.

The new office in San Francisco will do the same job that is has been doing with great success in Australia: buying and selling unused ads and advertising space. Approximately 75% of online advertising space, and 35% of the ad space in print media, goes unsold. Ad It Last tries to bring together companies that need to sell those slots with companies who have excess funds in their advertising budget. The transactions are done at a deep discount due to the last minute nature on both sides of the deal. Think of it like buying unsold seats on an airline flight, they'll let them go a bit cheaper because they don't want the plane to be burning the fuel off for empty chairs.
