When Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to 2015 in Back to the Future II, they visited a land blessed with self-tying power shoes, endless movie sequels and hoverboards.
What the movie didn't address was the 2016 presidential election.
While we are not sure whom Doc and Marty would vote for in 2016, we did notice a few curious similarities between Doc and one of the Democratic candidates: Bernie Sanders.
1. Their facial expressions are on point.
2. Christopher Lloyd was born to play both of them.
We'd feel the Bern if Lloyd took a turn as Senator Sanders.
3. They're both a little fed up.
We understand, guys.
4. They're both passionate about biofuels.
Doc Brown uses the contents of Marty's garbage -- rotten eggs, beer -- for fuel. Bernie's given the thumbs up to ethanol and other biofuels. Maybe they could build a new DeLorean together, then save the planet?
5. Hand gestures!
6. We assume they've both been mistaken for Larry David at least once.
Calzone!
7. They both know how to spruce up a car.
Whether it's with time travel capabilities...
... or a cool bumper sticker.
8. They can both dish out some feisty one-liners.
Whether it's a classic movie moment...
... or the #1 zinger of the presidential debate.
9. They have "experience" in international affairs.
10. Duh. The hair.
