LONDON -- As we found out recently from the strong reaction to Nigella Lawson's avocado toast recipe, people get pretty angry when it comes to food. Especially on Twitter.
The recent changes to Cadbury's Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut bar are no exception. After Cadbury announced they'd be tweaking the recipe to include sultanas as well as raisins -- each new bar will contain either raisins or sultanas, sort of like a dried fruit roulette -- Twitter immediately went into full outrage mode.
Some people were a bit cross.
So Fruit and Nut bars are to have a new ingredient for the first time in 90+ years. Wait for it - it's... sultanas. Really, @CadburyUK ? — Ben Kane (@BenKaneAuthor) November 3, 2015
@CadburyUK sultanas to be added to fruit and nut bar, you are joking— paul simmons (@PaulSimmo38) November 2, 2015
Others were outraged.
@CadburyUK PLEASE stop messing with our British chocolate, we like it how it is. Sultanas are NOT part of fruit & nut, we won't buy it!— karen T (@magentawillow) November 3, 2015

Some people had a big, big issue with sultanas.

A few were keen to blame the people behind Cadbury.
Sultanas to be added to Cadbury's Fruit & Nut. Why??!! This is what happens when you sell out to a company that makes rubber cheese— Sean (@Seangrum) November 3, 2015
I hate cadburys for changing the fruit and nut. Damn the American ownership running perfectly good sweets!— Simon Barry (@bigsimo79) November 2, 2015
Meanwhile, some people didn't see what all the fuss was about.
Just read #Cadbury are changing fruit & nut recipe to include sultanas. I have no idea what the difference is between them & raisins. Bad?— Megan Banting (@megabants) November 4, 2015
Cadbury defended their decision in the form of a survey -- sent to Mashable in a press release -- which quizzed 2,000 people in the UK on their sultana knowledge.
According to the results, only 7% of Brits know the difference between a raisin and a sultana.
"Many consumers noticed no change in taste when trying both bars, stating both sultanas and raisins were just as tasty as each other," they say.
