Let's go exploring in a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars and beloved comic strip Calvin and Hobbes actually have a lot in common: Both are filled with action and adventure -- and are total emotional roller coasters.

Brian Kesinger, story artist for Marvel and Disney Animation Studios, is a fan of both the Saturday morning comic and the famous sci-fi franchise, so he found an incredibly cute way to pay homage to both after seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

"I was inspired by the moment in the film where Rey sleds down the giant sand dune on jakku. It made me think of Calvin and Hobbes riding their red wagon down the steep hill," Kesinger told Mashable in an email.

Kesinger said he was influenced by Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson, but what especially interested him was exploring the relationships from the Star Wars movie.

"Calvin and Hobbes is great for so many reasons, but the friendship between the boy and his stuffed tiger is what makes it a classic -- and I I believe Star Wars lives on for the character bonds as well," he added.

Kesinger he sells his original print work on his Etsy shop; more of his illustrations can also be found on Instagram.
