Is that Katy Perry or Elizabeth Taylor? You probably never realized how similar they looked.
Carine Roitfeld, founder and editor in chief of CR Fashon Book, enlisted Perry along with nine other well-known celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Mariah Carey, to be transformed into their own personal icons for the 2015 Icons portfolio in the September Issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

After casting a unique mix of faces, Roitfeld and legendary photographer Jean-Paul Goude asked everyone, "Who do you want to be? Who is your fantasy?" Then, "How would we make you look," according to The Cut.
Some of the photos are the perfect match: Katy Perry as Elizabeth Taylor in her Andy Warhol portrait, and Dakota Johnson as a modern-day Aphrodite.
Other celebrity/icon combinations seem to be a bit of a stretch: Oprah Winfrey appears as Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz, and Mariah Carey as Marie Antoinette. Actually, neither one of those is unusual. Oprah is magical and Mariah Carey is the glammest of them all.
The full 17-page portfolio, which hits newsstands Aug. 18, will also appear in all of Harper's Bazaar’s international editions.
