LONDON -- Peter Mayhew, the actor best known for playing Chewbacca in a number of Star Wars films, is sharing pages from the film's original script.

Mayhew posted several images Wednesday night, including the stained and scuffed cover of the script, dated March 15, 1976, with the title "Journal of the Whills" and several pages of production notes.

"Starting today I'll post a few pages from my original Star Wars script each day leading up to a big announcement," he wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

Much of the foundation for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is present in the opening pages of "The adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the 'Journal of the Whills'" -- with a few notable exceptions.

R2D2, for example, is described as "a short claw-armed tripod" whose "face is a mass of computer lights, surrounding a radar eye."

Whatever the announcement may be, Mayhew's account @TheWookieeRoars looks like one to keep an eye on for the next few days.
