Shrek fans and Chris Farley fans are in for a bittersweet treat.

Reddit has posted lost footage from 1997 -- which first surfaced online two years ago, but was only just uploaded to YouTube -- that shows storyboard drawings of the original Shrek film, complete with voice acting by Chris Farley. Farley had recorded between 80 and 90% of the film’s dialogue before he died of an overdose, Consequence of Sound reports.

Farley's brother Kevin previously told Yahoo! that the original Shrek character was different in looks and personality than the green giant ogre we know and love.

“Originally, the Shrek character was a little bit more like Chris -- like a humble, bumbling innocent guy,” he said.

After Farley died, Dreamworks recast the role with his SNL castmate Mike Meyers.
