Dell Jumps on Android Bandwagon With Mini 3 Smartphone

It might have taken two years, but Google’s Android operating system is suddenly very much at the center of the mobile universe, with a new device being revealed seemingly every day. Now, Dell is getting on board by announcing the Mini 3, a smartphone that will be marketed through China Mobile and Claro (a Brazilian carrier).

Dell isn’t yet revealing many specs about the device itself, which is its first smartphone. Those will be “announced on a partner-by-partner basis when devices are available in stores,” which is expected by year end on both carriers.

China Mobile is a big get for both Google and Dell though – it’s the world’s largest carrier with more than 500 million customers. Other devices from various manufacturers that run on Android are expected to launch on the carrier soon as well.
