Delta flight delayed after plane backed into terminal

A regional flight operated by Delta Air Lines was delayed Wednesday after the plane was backed into a building, according to a passenger.

The tail of Endeavor Air Flight 3443, headed to Chicago from Detroit, came in contact with the terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, an Endeavor Air spokesperson confirmed to Mashable.

"There were no injuries on board and maintenance is evaluating the CRJ-900 aircraft," the spokesperson said. "Customers have been re-accommodated on an alternate aircraft with minimal delay to their original schedule."

"The safety of Delta’s customers and crew members is our top priority, and we apologize for the disruption."

The flight departed Michigan about two and a half hours late, according to FlightAware.

Endeavor Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta, operating about 850 daily flights to more than 100 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
