So who's behind something so seemingly just smoke and mirrors? DocStoc. The site that lets you upload and embed documents is mixing things up a bit with DocCash, a new offering that uses Google AdSense's API to share the wealth from ad revenue on uploaded documents.

DocCash's earning process is really quite simple. Just upload a document, and every time a viewer clicks on one of the ads displayed, you earn a percentage of the revenue that DocStoc pulls in.

Of course you'll need to associate your AdSense account with your DocStoc profile to start accruing dough for documents. But, if you don't have an AdSense account, they can create one for you.

On the financial side of things, DocCash evenly splits all the ad revenue from ads on your single document pages between them and you. Since payments are processed by AdSense, you'll get paid on a monthly basis, and you can adjust your payment options — check, direct deposit — via AdSense.

This is a smart play on DocStoc's part because it's putting most of the burden of site traffic and engagement on your shoulders. By offering a piece of the pie, DocStoc is incentivizing you to heavily promote your documents to earn more dough. Plus, they even try to help along the process with tools that let you promote to Twitter, and Facebook, and via email. Bottom line, you bring in revenue for them, you win, they win.
