Cooper first played the role as Tony Stark's father in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger.
Between this news and the news from last week that Boardwalk Empire alum Shea Whigham will be joining the cast, we kind of need Agent Carter in our lives right now. Unfortunately, we have a whole first half of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2 first.
The good news on that front is that, though, is S.H.I.E.L.D. is seemingly better every week. After a decidedly rocky first season, the sophomore action drama has ramped up the action and intrigue in its latest outing.
Marvel's Agent Carter, starring Hayley Atwell, does not yet have an official premiere date but will debut early next year.
