FaithBase is a niche community for the faith crowd, offering a network for spiritual guidance and making new friends.

This new network was created by Community Connect, Inc., the company that brought us BlackPlanet, MiGente and Glee. Its latest niche community offers the same networking opportunities, and doesn't differ much in structure or functionality than the rest of its sites. Create a profile, add music, photos, videos and blog entries. Chat with other users from within FaithBase's instant messenger, or leave comments in other users' Guestbooks. Find friends for dating or networking, join groups and participate in forums. There are some editorial articles in the news section, but the site is otherwise a basic shell of a social network, meaning the users and their content is what makes this a truly niche social network, and will have to be self-regulated for these purposes as well.

Layering in some more premium content and additional faith-related resources would bring some added value to the site, though this would deviate from the hands-off, cookie cutter approach for making social networks. In related news, Community Connect has sought a reversal of the military ban that has blocked those in the armed forces on bases around the world from accessing the social network.
