Within mere hours, we will all be drowning in witty and fintastic tweets about Sharknado 2: The Second One. The thrilling and highly anticipated sequel to 2013's Sharknado airs on Syfy Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, which gives us very little time to seek shelter and think of shark puns.

Of course, it wouldn't be the 21st century if we didn't experience this natural disaster together. So before you hunker down in your life boats, make sure you're following along with the appropriate hashtags, lists and second-screen experiences to truly enjoy this bloody cultural phenomenon.

Good luck and Godspeed on your quest to tweet jokes and avoid sharks.

Live on SyFy.com

If you're among the lucky few who still have cable (or have snagged your parents' log-in information) you can stream Sharknado 2 on SyFy.com.

Hashtags

The easiest way to track the impending Sharknado will be with hashtags. Syfy is promoting #Sharknado2 and #Syfy, but it seems #Sharknado2thesecondone is already dominating Twitter's trending topics.

Twitter Lists

Sharknado's social team has compiled a great list of Twitter accounts of the entire Sharknado cast (minus the sharks). The list includes the movie's stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, as well as several celebs who cameoed, including Billy Ray Cyrus, Perez Hilton and Al Roker. We're sure they'll take every opportunity to capitalize on this "acting" opportunity, so keep an eye on their accounts.

The official Sharknado 2 and Syfy accounts will also be tweeting out their favorite memes and reactions to the film.

WitStream, a service that curates the funniest tweets from contributors, confirmed with Mashable that it will be featuring a Sharknado 2 section on its site Wednesday night.

Superfans

The original Sharknado owes its immense popularity and fame to several comedians, such as Patton Oswalt and Wil Wheaton, who live-tweeted the first film. Let's hope these funny guys are just as active for the sequel.
