FOMO the Movie: The Terrifying Social Truth

For all the amazing ways social media has changed our lives, it's come with some downsides, as well. Chief among those is FOMO -- that is, of course, Fear of Missing Out, a documented disease among social media addicts.

Surely you're familiar with the feeling. A simple night relaxing at home is no longer good enough. Twitter brings fun updates from friends on vacation. Instagram is full of photos from a party you weren't invited to. Facebook is a veritable minefield full of reminders of all the wild fun you're not having there on the couch. And yet ... you can't stop checking. Suddenly your relaxing night at home is a painful exercise in anguish and social isolation.

Now there's a movie -- or at least a trailer -- that captures that horror. College Humor posted it to YouTube this week, and the fake preview gives FOMO the traditional slasher flick treatment. Check it out for yourself above and let us know what you think in the comments.
